Barcelona coach Hansi Flick felt Eric García's early red card was the turning point in Thursday's 2-1 defeat to Monaco and insisted his side are strong enough to progress in the new-look Champions League.

Eric García was only on the pitch for 10 minutes against Monaco before a red card sent him to the locker room. Barcelona's 2024–25 Champions League campaign got off to a nightmare start at the Stade Louis II.

Barcelona had a dreadful start at the Stade Louis II stadium when Garcia was shown a straight red card 11 minutes in for a foul on Monaco's Takumi Minamino, who was clear in front of goal after a misplaced pass from goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
