Hurricane Irma, weakened slightly from Category 5 to Category 4, blew ashore on the Florida Keys with winds of 130 mph.

Tropical Storm Gordon formed in the Atlantic basin, according to the NHC’s 11 a.m. advisory. The storm is about 990 miles west-northwest of the Cabo Verde Islands, and it’s moving west-northwest at about 12 mph. Wind speeds are sustained at 40 mph.

Central Florida will stay dry until early Wednesday afternoon, when a few isolated showers will begin to form.
